Telly's Taverna is a hidden gem in the heart of Astoria, offering an authentic Greek dining experience that feels like a trip to the Mediterranean. From the moment you walk in, the warm, inviting atmosphere and friendly staff make you feel right at home. Food: The food here is simply outstanding. We started with the saganaki, a pan-seared cheese that was perfectly crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. The octopus was incredibly tender and flavorful, a must-try for seafood lovers. For the main course, we had the lamb chops, which were cooked to perfection and seasoned with just the right amount of herbs and spices. The sides of lemon potatoes and Greek salad complemented the dishes wonderfully. Service: The service at Telly's Taverna is top-notch. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations. The staff is attentive without being overbearing, ensuring that our water glasses were always full and checking in on us at just the right moments. Ambiance: The ambiance is cozy and charming, with a rustic décor that adds to the authentic Greek vibe. Whether you're sitting inside or enjoying the outdoor seating, the atmosphere is relaxed and perfect for a leisurely meal. Overall: Telly's Taverna is a fantastic spot for anyone craving authentic Greek cuisine. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and inviting atmosphere makes it a standout in Astoria. I can't wait to return and try more of their amazing dishes!

I was in the area and stopped for lunch. Food remains consistent and delicious! I was craving Grilled Octopus so I had that with Greek salad. Octopus was done to perfection! Service remains friendly and on point. It's nice to come back to a restaurant that you liked and they still deliver the same way you remembered. They give you loukoumades ( dessert) on the house and the Greek coffee is really good. If you are craving seafood you should visit them. Cheerio!

If you have the opportunity to enjoy an authentic Greek cuisine experience, Telly's is probably the best experience outside of Glyfada,Greece. You must try the lamb chops or any kabob on the menu. The saginaki is a must for starters, as well as the tzatziki with pita. Greek salad is the best. End your night with the best Greek coffee served with baklava. O'pa!!!

food is authentic greek, the service was super nice, super fast, very helpful, you will love the ambiance lighting. Whitewashed brick reminds me of Athens. Tables are light, white and cheerful, reminded me of Mykonos and Santorini. We ate Greek salad, steak, and grilled swordfish on a skewer. I recommend the grilled swordfish. It was tender and delicious. The salads, the bread and the drinks were prepared perfectly. I will visit Telly's in Astoria again!!

One of the first places I ever went to in NY! Came here with my cousins and had a very full meal together. Loved the end when they gave a free plate of their donut hole-like dessert. Every we ordered was pretty good - the octopus was tender, the lemon potatoes were cooked nicely, the shrimp and fish were very flavorful. The salad was pretty refreshing too. As far as the ambience - the outdoor patio was great for our evening but could see it as a good spot for lunch too. Service was good too - checked on us frequently enough. This was their recommendation and I can see why - will be back myself!

Love this place. Food is always fresh and top notch. The service is great! For drinks, I love the Drunken Telly. The grilled seafood platter for two is divine with fresh shrimp, flounder, and salmon.

I came here w/ my good friend who was Greek. We ordered the following to share: Greek salad - It was good w/ feta. My greek friend said it needed more salt. I actually like that it was not that salty. Branzini (deboned) - The branzini was good, but it was not the best I have had. It was not charred enough & not seasoned well. Lemon Potatoes - Superb! This item was very delicious! Spankorizo (rice w/ spinach) - Excellent! This item was also very delicious! Mythos beer - It was very refreshing & light tasting! Loved the complimentary bread they give - super soft & great w/ the olive oil. Staff was very friendly & attentive. Tons of seating & loved the decor.

Ordered delivery and had a great experience. The fried potatoes, avgolemono soup and Greek salad were all super solid, and portions were huge. Also got a baklava, and it was perfect - one of the best I've had from a place in Astoria. Next time I need to go in person!
